about
about this track:
The song is a mini-story of a short-lived romantic encounter between two strangers who have met in the middle of nowhere. An upbeat romantic acoustic folk/pop ballad at first glance, the song also represents a symbolic exploration of much deeper themes like loneliness, isolation, and loss.
This song shows on the example of two strangers meeting in the middle of nowhere and then vanishing from each other's lives how alone we truly are, and how despite this we've always got love that we want to share. And whilst the Sun, the omnipresent silent observer of times, may keep our bodies warm, a feeling of loss can incinerate our hearts.
Notwithstanding the despairing angle of the themes, the song itself is on the upbeat side, and it’s got this calming, peaceful, and chill emotional tone that makes me really enjoy playing and singing it. Hope you enjoy listening to it!
lyrics
lyrics:
Right across the desert, if I may
I walked along this lonely highway,
For miles around not a soul to see
It’s what they call the land of the free
Like a Christmas gift in July
I knew straight up she’d take me for a ride
Her car jumped off the main road,
Leaving dusty trail as her V8 roared
Tired and weary of the road,
I knew where this was gonna go
And when we learned only one room was free,
I thought I’d make my move and so did she,
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Boundaries started to expand
When she went and gently touched my hand
A touch of such a charming miss
I strongly felt like reaching for a kiss
Sooner as we’re getting mellow
The night went quickly dark and stellar,
And when she finally closed that door,
We both got more than we ever bargained for
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Dreaming of the golden valley,
And of other things I wished for madly
When the tricky desert sun crept up
Trying to steal the remnants of my luck
And when the morning whitened
I found no signs of her beside me
She left me no notes, she just left,
A sunburnt hole in my chest
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over
Hot Sun of Arizona
Keeps burning my heart over and over

The whole EP is a well-crafted enchanted experience, but please be sure to check out the song Crying. It's such a soft and gentle love song, almost like a lullaby accompanied by a beautiful guitar Leo Nazz
